The Thermals’ Hutch Harris Gives English Lesson
We’re going to be brief on this one, because we want to divert your attention to another site for once. Former Local Cutter (and current Oregonian scribe) Jason Simms alerted us to this interview he conducted with the Thermals’ Hutch Harris for the interactive English learning site Ebaby. Be sure to click on all the links to learn the meaning of English slang terms like “stoked” and “dodged a bullet.”
In other Thermals news, the pop punk trio—complete with new drummer Westin Glass—have two awesome shows lined up this week: A Friday, Dec. 5 gig at the Doug Fir with Panther, Champagne Champagne, and DJ Maggie Vail (of Kill Rock Stars, the band’s new label) and a special, totally rad ALL AGES MATINEE SHOW on Sunday, Dec. 7 with Champagne Champagne and DJ Maggie Vail. Check LocalCut later this week for more info.
Also, in case you needed a reason to go to either show this weekend, here’s a Take Away clip of Harris and Kathy Foster performing new song “That’s Inertia” acoustic on the coast:

says:unrelated to the pretty great interview: was the hutch doll always that pale, or is that a new look for the lack of sunlight this fall?
