Wombstretcha, “Amy McCullough, She Don’t Even Know”

wombToday is Willamette Week Music Editor Amy McCullough’s last day. Goodbyes have been said, good wishes wished, even a few tears shed (Amy also posted her going-away episode of In the Mux earlier today). It seems like everybody is getting in on the “Bon Voyage” festivities (Amy and her boyfriend are sailing a boat to Mexico: All bills paid in full, most worldly possessions sold or given away). And while she has received many a sweet note, perhaps none have been as touching as this tribute by Portland rap duo Wombstretcha the Magnificent. There has been talk of a Wombstretcha tribute to Amy for a long time, but upon hearing she’d be leaving the country, the rappers/regular LC readers/hecklers finally completed the opus. It clearly owes some debt to Eminem’s “Stan,” but it’s quite an accomplishment in and of itself.

Amy would have written this Cut of the Day herself, but looking across the office right now I can tell you that it was just too touching and too meaningful to Ms. McCullough for her to tackle it herself. We’ll miss you, Amy, and so will Wombstretcha:
