FIXED: New Thermals Demos! Hutch Harris Photo Biography!
(Update: Aw jeez. This has the actual Hutch photos now. Crazy day yesterday.) Waaaahooooo! Two new Thermals demos (”You Dissolve” and “I Let it Go”) are streaming over at the band’s MySpace page. And they’re fucking good, as we’ve come to expect from everything Thermals (straight from the pages of your journal, in fact). The songs are slated to appear on the Portland now-duo, soon-to-be-trio-again-probably’s upcoming release, Now We Can See
Hutch Harris says on the Thermals blog:
New Demos
I’ve posted the demos for “I Let It Go” and “You Dissolve”, two tracks from our upcoming record “Now We Can See”. Kathy and I recorded them on an 8track cassette at our practice space and our houses. Let us know what you think, also please check out my life story “Mandrake, Tomato, Nihilism” in the photos section.
The album probably won’t come out on Sub Pop, but then again it might. Pitchfork has more on that, and other startling Thermals revelations.
Oh, and that bit about “Mandrake, Tomato, Nihilism”? That’s rad, too. The Hutch, (who has just agreed to do a future episode of LocalCut’s “In The Mux” (yahoo!!!)), produced his definitive pictoral autobiography, and posted it to the Thermals’ MySpace site as well. But it works really well as a Flickr slideshow, and the Thermals were sweet enough to let us make one. Here ’tis:

(post author) says:comin’ up, nick, our email broke today (UGH!) but i have the pics, just need to retrieve a line from the photog, Jordan.
and cary: man, that was such an important show for the thermals stylistically. i swear that was the night they unveiled that new, more nuanced, slower sound that was going to be on the body, the blood, the machine (which, when i really think hard about it, might just be my favorite portland album ever—EVERY SONG is awesome). but that night they sounded outright metal. i was so happy that they were the special guest. SO STOKED ON PDX POP!!!!!
p.s. why do things like email going down happen at the WORST POSSIBLE TIMES EVER.
