Leave Him Alone, Pauly Shore

paulyI’ve watched this like a half-dozen times now and decided tonight that I had no choice but to post it here. It’s an interview with Portland’s own Adam Forkner (a.k.a. White Rainbow/White Rabbit/White Vampire/White Etc.) from SXSW, wherein a desperate-to-be-recognized Pauly Shore wanders into frame and makes a complete ass of himself (as, I suppose, Pauly shore is wont to do). This is what this once proud giant of pop culture has turned to: Interrupting band interviews in hopes of gathering precious YouTube cameos. Jesus, can suicide be far away?

Maybe Pauly was scoping Forkner’s polka-dot threads, which, you’ve gotta admit, are not that far a cry from the clothes the Wheez rocked at the height of his popularity (see above photo). In any case, I’d imagine Forkner came up with about a dozen really awesome zingers an hour after this video was taken.

You can get a more little context on this truly amazing/depressing footage at the always entertaining White Rainbow Life Log. Here’s a WR live performance from SXSW, also courtesy of the Life Log:

Good times, good times.
