FINALLY: Jay Horton Does the Portland Music Awards (Video)
As promised, and only one week late (video begets problems), LocalCut TV is proud to present our short documentary/red carpet interview series/wrap-up show/charade featuring roaming LocalCut/WW reporter Jay Horton and a bevy of celebrity guests. Without further ado, we present LocalCut’s coverage of the controversial and unique Portland Music Awards:
LocalCut TV: Portland Music Awards from localcut on Vimeo.
Notes to selves for next year:
1. Find a video camera with a microphone input instead of using prop mic plugged into Jay’s pants.
2. Speak slowly and clearly.
3. Clear Art Alexakis interview with “his people” prior to event.

says:Portland’s red carpet seemed pretty wet, but duly droll.
Jay Horton, who were YOU wearing? And what toxic mix of product were you using in your hair?
I thought that Jesse Emerson looked quite dapper, though he could have used some shades a la Coach Glanville.

says:Bravo! Next stop for Horton: ET. I’d like to see shorter video pieces in the future (quick cuts, you know?), as I didn’t make it to the end (cut out after Craig’s performance…figured it couldn’t get better). I love how quickly Hank responds to say he’s wearing a chainsaw company. Glad to see you guys producing original video!

says:ET’s old media, dude. I’m just killing time til the TMZ buy-out. And, yeah, too long - just watch a minute’s worth every hour. I’ve been doing that for days.
NOTES:
Camerawork by everyone’s fave renaissance man John Kennedy.
Honestly thought the Dandy’s were up for Legends Award - not trying to be a dick, Brent was the only guest the whole night to instantly get the goddamn red carpet joke.
Was trying to be a dick to Art, but … quiet dignity. Who knew? I’ve had my problems with the man, but he would’ve done an interview had I approached differently. Much as it pains me to say, he was cordial and relatively warm. Absence of interview falls on me. And, by me, I mean all of you.
And we need a boom mic. The prop remains tethered to my crotch.

says:when i first moved to portland, i worked at a smoothie shop. art alexiakis used to come in all the time. a teen age girl worked there. she loved his music. he yelled at her when she mentioned it. the whole incident made her cry. i put a moldy strawberry from the floor in his drink every time after that.
these awards are ridiculous!
