Alex Arrowsmith’s John McCain Tribute Video
My open letter to Portland singer/songwriter (and minor Youtube celebrity) Alex Arrowsmith:
Dear Alex,
The video for “Going Insane for the McCain Campaign” is the singular most obnoxious thing I’ve ever heard in my life. Furthermore, I was unable to distinguish whether your love for the Arizona Senator is true or that irony thing that’s so big over at the Portland Mercury. I mean, taking a plane to the McCain makes sense, I’ll give you that. But why would you sell cocaine for the McCain campaign? Look, if you’ve got a scoop, my WW bosses would love to report on any presidential candidate with a coke problem. We’d be interested in purchasing said cocaine—but only if necessary, and in the name of journalism of course. But I digress. This is the singular most grating, annoying song I’ve ever heard in my life, and listening to it was the most painful two minutes and fifty-eight seconds of my life (except that time I sprained my ankle after letting go of a rope swing). The video editing, however, is brilliant—for that I commend you.
